Born in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, 1972
Is an artist trained at the Juan Pablo Duarte Elementary Art School, the San Alejandro Academy, and the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana, where he further expanded his studies in painting, drawing, ceramics, and photography.
He has held solo exhibitions such as Strategy of Illusion (2018) and Tribulations (2011) in Havana.
He was selected for the Winners’ Salon at the Center for the Development of Visual Arts of Cuba (2004 and 2005), received the P.E.R.R.O.
Residency in 2007, and was awarded the Archipiélago Grant in 2008.
Since 2010, he has been based in Mexico, where he continues his work in painting, photography, and ceramics.
His work, primarily executed in acrylic on canvas, explores cultural traditions and the symbolic construction of different civilizations.
Ravelo fuses myths and iconographies from diverse cultural systems into a universal structure, creating complex and balanced compositions with strong spiritual resonance.
His sophisticated technique, precise line work, and meticulous finish reveal a deep respect for craftsmanship, resulting in a singular and irreplaceable body of work.
