A. Arroyo

Born in Mexico City in 1983. At a very young age his interest in art awakened when he discovered the post-impressionist paintings by an artist from Veracruz, Marino Vergara Ochoa.
He fed his curiosity in the arts by drawing throughout his childhood. Once he had finished high school, he began his studies at the San Carlos Academy for the first time at a drawing and composition workshop by the Master in Visual Arts Guillermo Getino.
He got his BA in Graphic Design with a strong preference for illustration, traditional techniques and mix between digital and analog.
At the end of his university training, he resumed his studies at the Academia de San Carlos in the Workshops of the PhD in Art Studies Rocío Romero Hernández, highlighting Techniques and materials for painting, Oil technique, Drawing of the Human figure and Venetian Portrait. 
Then he studies “Drawing of the human figure” for over 4 years continuously at the academy, where body language became very influential in his work.
He develops his precision in drawing skills by illustrating at the INAH (National Institute of Antropology and History) where he collaborates documenting archaeological pieces, specially lithic and ceramic. The kind of graph with which he has contact at this stage becomes very important for his work later.
He begins teaching undergraduate level classes with subjects related to drawing, composition, illustration, graphic representation, among other subjects of visual language.
In 2015 he coordinated for 2 years the Degree in Graphic Design at the University of the South.
He is part of the engraving workshop: “From the traditional to the Contemporary” at the Academia de San Carlos by the Master in Plastic Arts Rodrigo Pérez.
He currently resides in Playa del Carmen, Q. Roo where he dedicates himself full time to engraving production, mostly Woodcut.
