Leiva / Exclusive Artist since 2001
Leyva, born 54 years ago, draws inspiration from the customs and rich diversity of Mexican culture. Color, nature, traditional attire, tequila, animals, alebrijes, music, and especially mariachi form the foundation of the artistic language.
Each journey into the heart of Mexico is reflected in the series of cubist–expressionist skeletal figures: couples whose gazes overflow with emotion, surrounded by sun and moon rendered in vibrant color.
The charming skeletal characters symbolize life beyond death.
Rooted in folklore, her work offers a spectacular vision that evokes the afterlife as a joyful, complete, and fulfilling existence.
Every brushstroke reveals her deep commitment to art, translating emotion into expressive lines that celebrate movement and the spirit of Mexican characters, each telling their own unique story.
These narratives are accompanied by musical instruments whose melodies are born from the heart, imagination, brush, and a rich palette of colors.
The work of this artist is rooted in a contemporary dialogue with Mexican identity, folklore, and popular culture. Through color, music, and highly symbolic characters, the artist constructs scenes that celebrate life, memory, and tradition from a playful yet deeply expressive perspective. Her skeletal figures and festive elements reinterpret the everyday as a space of celebration and cultural continuity.
In parallel, the artist develops a body of work inspired by Cubism, exploring the fragmentation of form and geometry while preserving a distinctive visual language.
Since the year 2000, the artist has maintained an exclusive relationship with our gallery, consolidating a coherent and recognizable trajectory within contemporary art.
